NOTES IN THE SAND
A tribute to the girls who were burned to death in 2017 in Guatemala, this performance is also a journey through stores of imprisonment, freedom, creation, insanity, and life through a female being.
The recital involves three short dances: Origen Rojo (Red origin), an inquiry into the memory of our time in the womb; El Trino de la espera (The trill of waiting), a critique of the cultural imposition of marriage in the life of women; and Las niñas de Guatemala (The Girls of Guatemala), a dance depicting the story of the 41 girls who were victims of the fire.
